In Home Adoptions
At Rescue Rovers our goal is to match the right dog to the right family. We take 3 applications on each dog and meet with all 3 before we decide which home is the best fit.
To start, fill out an application here. If you are interested in a specific dog please be sure to list him or her on your application!
Once your application has been submitted it will be reviewed by a member of our apps team. Someone will reach out to you within 48 hours to let you know the status of your application.
Your approved application will then be sent to the foster family of the dog(s) you’d like to meet. They will be in touch and will set up a meet and greet. The foster family will choose the adopter they think is the best fit – usually the dog tells them!
If you are not chosen please don’t be discouraged! Our process is designed to benefit both dogs and humans! Your application is good for 6 months and we are happy to help you find another dog to love. If you see a dog you’d like to meet you can call our main line at 435-565-4031 or email email@example.com.
We have regular adoption events on the first and third Saturday of every month and special events in-between. You can find our events advertised on our Facebook page. Dogs adopted at events are available to go home the same day*. Adoption events are a great way to meet multiple dogs and see who will be the best fit for your family. Foster parents are often on hand to ask questions of.
Apply online before the event to help your adoption go as smoothly as possible. Bring all members of your family – especially the furry ones! It helps us make sure your new dog is a good fit.
*we reserve the right to require an in-home meet and greet or deny applications.
The adoption fee helps us insure that every dog adopted through Rescue Rovers is prepared for their forever home. We vaccinate, spay/neuter, and microchip all of our dogs. Adoption cost varies by age. Here at Rescue Rovers we believe training is important for all dogs, but especially for puppies! If you adopt a puppy two years old or younger and complete a training course within the first 3 months, we offer a $50 reimbursement of your adoption fee. Email your training certificate to firstname.lastname@example.org. You save a little money and your puppy learns some valuable skills – everybody wins!
Hi! My name is Lucita, I am a seven-year-old female shepherd mix. I had a family and I lived with them until my dad got too sick to care for me. Now I’m interviewing new families, preferably one with previous dog experience.
I was recently diagnosed with something called Hypothyroidism. I take a little pill twice a day and its not very expensive, only about $16.00 a month. I need a calm, patient and loving home. I would love a family who will help me lose some of the extra weight I’ve put on. (Thanks a lot, hypothyroidism!)
I also need someone who will show me boundaries and structure in my new home. I can get a little overwhelmed if too much is happening around me.
I enjoy walks and respond well to leash pressure and leadership. I love my toys too, especially stuffies & tug toys. I love to snuggle up and snooze next to you on the couch.
I’m 100% potty trained and have a bladder of steel! I am crate trained, but also trustworthy when left out in the house. I would prefer to be the only dog in the home but if you had another dog that was calm quiet & respectful, I’d be open to meeting them to see how we get along. (No cats or kids, please.) If you think your home fits the qualities I’m looking for and would like to meet me apply today!
